The SF-8A Aerospace Fighter is a Solar Frontiers design developed in the lead up to the eventual creation of the SF-13A Aerospace Fighter. However it was an alternative design inspired by the classic Starfighter II Aerospace Fighter. The Starfighter II was often a competitor to Solar Frontiers designs even nearly 200 years after it was first created thanks to Fusion torch engine upgrades which kept it in service with many frontier worlds. Solar Frontiers took the basic package and reworked it to provide stealth as well as a more effective lifting body design which was more streamlined to provide a useful ground to space interceptor.

The SF-8A only carries a single missile launcher in it’s belly for offensive punch, much like the original Starfighter II that inspired it. However it carries twelve missiles instead of six and can launch up to four at a time. Sadly these hard limits on it’s fire power make it useless as more than a sensor platform after the missiles are used up. One of their designers however did create a special ‘rearming’ assembly for shuttles which could dock in orbit to rearm a SF-8A in five to ten minutes without human intervention.
